New York Viola Society - Membership

The New York Viola Society invites you to join us for our fourteenth (2005-2006) season . Membership in the New York Viola Society is open to all violists and those interested in the viola. We welcome all who believe in our endeavors; membership is an opportunity for individuals to join together and contribute to the goals and purposes of our organization.

Members dues are only $40 a year ($18 for students with ID). These help support our events and activities, publications, website (www.nyvs.org), administrative expenses of our Scholarship Program and our other activities promoting the viola, its literature, study and performance. They are a tangible statement of the belief that the viola, violists, viola performances, compositions for the viola and furthering opportunities to learn more about the viola are important opportunities in our society.

In addition to supporting a good cause, NYVS members receive numerous benefits. All members are entitled to attend free of charge our public events - concerts featuring world-renowned violists and collegial events featuring NYVS members. Members are invited to perform in our collegial events, perfect opportunities for them to offer pieces featuring the viola ­ perhaps as an opportunity to try out a piece for a future recital of their own or just a chance to play without all the efforts of organizing their own concert. In addition, members will receive our publications featuring news and reviews of concerts and recordings, and interesting articles by and about violists and the viola.
