Dancer/Choreographer Aynsley Vandenbroucke
Dancers Cheri Paige Fogleman and Kathleen Hahn

"Below The Skin" is an evening-length dance exploring the question "What is it to give everything?" Dancer/choreographer Aynsley Vandenbroucke, dancers Cheri Paige Fogleman and Kathleen Hahn, and musician Leanne Darling have turned this question upside down for the past year. Wondering how to move it and live it. in performance, rehearsal, work, love, fighting, playing, rest...
The result is an intimate journey of dance and music featuring Darling's unique score for solo amplified Viola and samples. The music is performed live, in styles ranging from minimalist to funk to avant garde, with plenty of room for improvisation and interaction with the dancers. She uses a sampling/looping device to create layers of sound -- from lyrical melodies to driving rhythms and textures-- simulating a whole room full of musicians.
